💡 Are you curious how it all started?

If you've made it this part, you are probably at least a little bit curious about what's going on.
So, let us explain to you why this project came into existence and why it's so awesome that you just have to support it.

Simply put, we got fed up with working from home, and we believe we're not the only ones. Working alone is great and all, but over time, we all realized it's not quite it and is missing something.

When you go to the office, to a bar, to school, or anywhere else to do your 9 to 5 work, it's not a walk in the park. Especially when the work hours go nuts. When you have a few cool colleagues, you feel like you belong somewhere. And that's something that we felt was missing for those who work for ourselves - like us.

We dealt with it by hanging out in cafes and especially tea houses, because nothing kicks you at work like a good cup of Pu-Erh, which we believe, you'll find yourself soon enough.
However, that was a temporary solution to long-lasting issue.
One day we said to ourselves, “It would be great to create a place that would be just for people like us. People who want to have a place to sit and work. People who like us are a bit nerdy, geeky, enjoy working on new projects, and just want to be part of something”.

And so the idea of Communitea was born - a co-working space, tea room, cafe, event space, showroom, and more.

And what better way to start a community than through co-working? If you've read this far, you may be thinking, “Hmm… I like it, this is exactly what I’ve been missing”.
So let's take a closer look at the whole project.

🤔 How will it work?

During working hours, we'll primarily operate as a co-working space. You'll pay for a one-time entry or a monthly membership which will get you your place to realize your dreams or simply work peacefully. You'll also be able to enjoy a superb cup of tea, but of course, also coffee, lemonade, beer, or a little something to nibble on.

In addition, we'll also operate as a showroom and store with products from local manufacturers, friends, and people from Communitea. So if you make something, this is the place to show it to the world!

After work, you can look forward to evening events, which we would be also open to the public - tastings, travel lectures, movie nights, even small concerts. There are no limits to this part.
Want to invite friends for a poker night or play D&D? No problem, book a meeting room and go for it. You'll also have access to a small kitchenette, printer, and other equipment.
For regular members, we plan to provide lockers, monitors, keyboards, mice - basically a full set.

📝 Do you have a plan?

Certainly, we have chosen a place and we'll start the makeover in April. We'll rearrange the layout, fix a few things, clean it up, repaint, but most importantly, equip it. If everything goes well, we'll open a month after our Hithit campaign finishes. Now here comes your time.

The space will be pretty much empty. There is a bar, but that's just about it. We'll cover the rent and other running expenses, and we'll do a lot of repairs ourselves. But to buy the equipment that makes it comfortable for all of us to work, we need your help. Projectors, tables, chairs, monitors, lockers, coffee machine, coffee, tea, a printer, and much, much more, basically everything you want in such a place, costs something.

  • 🏆 8,730 EUR

This is the essential minimum to get the project going. With this amount, we'll cover essential equipment, goods, and of course, your reward. Basically, everything needed to open as promised.

  • 🤩 13,878 EUR

Extra cash for equipment! Oh, plus everyone who chooses reward number two or higher will receive a voucher for a tea session using a superb kind of tea with a full tea setup. Try it once, and you won't be able to imagine your workday any other way.

  • 😱 19,826 EUR

If we raise this much, we'll organize a series of lectures on a topic of your choice for everyone who chooses at least the reward number two - game development, tea ceremonies and more. Oh, and the equipment? We'll take it to the next level.

  • 🤯 25,771 EUR

Alright, let's make it nice. At this level, you can expect adjustable desks, super chairs, and other fancy gadgets. And the Opening Party? It will be an experience of a lifetime! Your grandchildren will hear about it.

👋 And who are we?

We are three geeks who constantly hang out in tea houses with our computers and chat about nonsense. We're freelancers, and we've experienced quite a lot to talk about. We want freedom, but we also need to be among people. And because we didn't want to choose, we decided to join forces and create a place where similar crazy people can work together, organize great events, start new projects and build something together.

And now some more blabber about each of us.

Richard

He's the one behind all of this. A hardcore introvert who needs to be among people (a weirdo). A programmer with a doctorate in Czech, who once co-owned a tea house. He programs for money and writes poems for free. He knows a bit about everything, but nothing properly. He also struggled with the logo and the content of the crowdfunding and annoyed everyone to read it, to see if it's okay. Geeky as fuck.

Petr

A likable nutcase with a sharp tongue. Richard's first buddy in Brno, who taught him to drink tea. He worked as a waiter, a programmer, a salesman, a trader, a warehouseman … and other weird posts. Loyal to the grave and is know to be a generator of crazy ideas. Unlike the others, he has the morality to live in a healthy way. More or less. Also geeky as fuck.

Tin

Tin is the smart one among us with over ten years of experience in tech. He ensures that this doesn't turn into a complete clown fiesta. His obsession with tea emerged after moving from Croatia to Brno. Thanks to it, he met Petr and Richard at Cesta čaje teahouse. He loves young sheng pu-erhs, board games, can program in just about anything with documentation, and reads stacks of fantasy books. So yeah, he's also a geek.
